One of our dedicated community members shared a question with me that I'm betting has been asked by many of us...but we were too scared to ask it.
"Is it OK to just NOT create for a season?"
While we all understand the need for rest, it's a different thing entirely to step away from your creative gifting and be OK with doing...nothing.
It can feel like you've lost your creative soul.
However, all of Scripture points to times when we should be OK with seasons of inactivity. Even in your creative life.
Ecclesiastes says there is a time for EVERY purpose under heaven. So there is a time for creative activity. And there is a time to refrain and cease.
The same God that can inspire you is the same God that can nurture the other parts of you while the creator in you steps back.
Pray, seek God's face, and make sure that you're not acting out of frustration or shame when you feel it's time to step back from active creative work.
But also be willing to place your gifting in God's hands. It's the best place for it.
I know that on the social media ladder, most creatives put Facebook and Instagram at the top of the list.
