My friend, we are not a political place. But we would be willingly ignorant to ignore the firestorm that enveloped the United States over the last week and a half.
Here's the thing...I'm not called to comment on the leadership of our nation. I am, however, called to help encourage the creatives that have to maintain our voices and spirits in this unprecedented time.
I'm reminded of Daniel, who in the midst of intense persecution, was calm in his response.
He got up and prayed every day "as he did before", the Bible says.
So what should be the Christian creative's response to chaos in the news?
To do the same thing they did before the chaos.
Seeking the Lord. Creating beauty. Serving their communities. Making their voice clear.
And guarding your heart, for out of it flows the issues of life.
Do what you need and can in your sphere of influence when it comes to being a good citizen.
But your creative citizenship is in heaven. And we desperately need more creatives to echo a divine government.
